Julia is woken up early by the owner of the Restaurant downstairs to be told there is a dead man in the walk in freezer Though she had seen the man the prior night, nobody knows who it is or why he died and in the freezer no less So she starts asking questions and finds a mystery dated years in the past.This was a nominee for the Agatha, and though it did not win, it is well worth a read Julia is interesting and it is a works well with the police balance that I liked in my cozy sleuth

Always love visiting Barbara Ross coast of Maine This time around she starts with a body found in the walk in freezer at a restaurant and then brings in a group of summer complaints who d been part of a summer colony years ago, as young people, before tragedy struck Now they re back in Maine to retire or start new lives But who is that body in the freezer You may guess but you won t know until the end Recommended

Barbara Ross is writing some of the smartest cozies around, and this one is terrific, from the first line to the unusual ending It s an exploration of long friendship, the role of an amateur sleuth in the community, and honesty in an evolving relationship Highly recommended.

I ADORE this series, particularly so because I am viscerally drawn to Maine and would love to live there Consequently, I love the descriptive passages about the area, the scenery, the weather It s an excellent story and a worthy addition to the series The next one is a bit further down in my TBR pile rubs hands together gleefully

It s winter time in Maine While their family business is closed for the season, there is still plenty of mischief and mayhem for Julia and the others to get into

The author chose a different and unusual way of presenting her book It reminded me a bit of Agatha Christiebut also of Judy Bolton, a childhood favorite.Of course I do not mean to say that this story was childish It was that I had the same feelings after reading the story, which was a gentle mystery In some of her actions Julia reminded me of Judy I do not want to go into this with examples as I do not want to spoil the story.I especially loved how Barbara Ross was able to make WINTER into sort [...]

Great book I love mystery series and I m so glad I found this author She has a charming way of phrasing things and finds a choice of words that are unexpected and fit perfectly She touches on little details about the weather, food, chores, and characters and pulls it all together for a fun read and good ending ARC netgalley

I love love love these books Julia Snowden is settling back in to Busman Harbor and has started running Gus s Too with her boyfriend, Chris When Gus finds a body in the walk in freezer of the restaurant Julia just can t help but start digging around and asking questions The story goes fast and is yet again another great read in the Clambake series.

My favorite of the series Good food, a body in the freezer, a missing picture and a prohibition age tunnel could you ask for anything

Lots of confusion with the characters suspects and their intertwined relationships However, the mystery was clever and I loved the outcome.

Even though it is not a 5 for me, it is sooo close now I said in a former review that when Julia takes a decision as to where her life is going to be, that might be the end of the series, or not Definitely not Julia is kinda settled She has taken some decisions, everything is fine with the family, her love life is going strong But once again she is put in a situation where she has to act herself just to keep sane.The story line in this book goes way back, uncovering connections between people wh [...]

I really enjoyed this book, my favorite of the series Julia and Chris have their hands full with the restaurant, dead bodies, and disappearing items Despite warnings from Binder and Flynn, Julia is at it again, looking for clues, trying to solve the mysteries, new and old, and heading towards danger What is the connection between the diners Twists and turns throughout and development of favorite characters make this a fun, must read for cozy fans References to, and hints towards familiar places [...]

Fogged Inn by Barbara Ross was a decent mystery The story is set in a quaint sea side community in Maine The victim is found in the walk in cooler of the village s only restaurant, so a suitably bizarre plot was likely a certainty And it was a zig zag plot that was fun to follow The sleuth was suitably amatueurish who often than not figured things out faster than the cops Good mystery.

My mom and I chose another cozy mystery, Fogged Inn from the Clambake Series for our Mother Daughter Book Club Fogged Inn started off with a bang and was headed for a 5 star rating until the highly disappointing ending The ending was meh with very little explanation and seemed rushed While the book was well written for the most part the lackluster ending has earned it my least favorite in this series.
